: Four Bear needs to finish his penence, for he feels he
: hasn't earned it yet. 'I cannot yet return to be with
: the warriors' or something or other.
Not true. 4 Bear acknowledges being absolved of dishonor
at Muirthemne, but has chosen to stay a Jman out of disquiet
at the evil visions he's been seeing.
It seems to me that, as a Heron, the blood courses through
their veins and their thoughts are those of war. As Jmen,
their minds are able to forget war and contemplate deeper,
more meaningful things. Wanting to understand the meaning
of the evil visions, 4 Bear chose the fur coat as it would
give him the meditation and scholarly mind he needed, whereas
wielding the katanas would cloud his being with the thirst
for blood. mb.
: I don't really think there is anything behind the coat
: and shovel.
: I don't think there's anything to expand upon.
That's your choice of course, but I think its a bit sad. The
Myth story is (or should be) full of mystery and hidden
meanings. If things are mean't to be that shallow, well,
it becomes boring eh? Jmen/Herons to me have always seemed
to have a lot more to them than meets the eye. Like Strider
in Lord of the Rings perhaps...
