In Response To: Re: Who are you, and what have you done with Forre (Forrest)

: Where has he lied, aside for Alric not believing he was
: an avatara of Connacht?

OK, well, not exactly lied but he does seem to have alterior motives, as mentioned before - not lies, but definite deception. I'll bet the Head assumed the Light would NOT be victorious in many of these encounters. Even tried playing Silvermines on legendary? Ugh! I hated that level! It took me about 30 tries to find the right damn route the first time I played it.

: Though I do see potential alterior motives, I think that
: he must be telling at least a partial truth about
: being one of Connacht's lietenants because if he
: wasn't, and since it hasn't been disproven in the
: game, then you've just got a useless statement hanging
: there, which is a no-no in story writing (and I doubt
: Bungie would do that).

OK, there is a definite flaw in your logic here. We know that

a) The Head does not always tell the truth, probably has an alterior motive, and is a definite deciever (A deciever, not THE deciever)

b) the Head says he's an avatara of Connacht

c) Alric believes he is not.

Now, you say why would bungie throw in the part about what the Head SAYS it is if the Head is lying? Well, it seems pretty obvious - the Head is being deceptive again, telling a lie or a half-truth, as is completely consistent with his character. But here's what to think about: If he really is an Avatar of Connacht, then why the HELL would Bungie throw in the part about Alric (and indeed, the narrator too, who is "unable to reconcile this with what [he knows] of history") not believing him? It goes way against Alric's character for him to be wrong about anything. He's right about the Watcher's arm-arrows, he's right about how to kill Balor, he's right about the West being lost, he does EVERYTHING right in TFL, coming up with all the plans and executing them perfectly with some mystical knowledge he seems to have about everything. I simply cannot fathom why you would believe the Head, who decieves people and starts a civil war, above Alric, the žber-wizard who knows practically everything, ESPECIALLY when so much evidence exists to support other theories (like my Head = Moagim theory)
