: Although i do agree in part with your comments,
: i would have to state these points in defense.
: Although the Encyclopedia is prob the most important
: resource available, save for gurps and the myth
: documentation itself, (and the comic of course)
: The section just gathers other data, from other sources,
: and displays it to you in a series of quotes. I know
: it has bells and whistles, but that is essentially
: it's purpose.
: Therefore it differs from the GURPS style somewhat.
: and is perhaps worthy of a seperate section in whatever
: site.
: Also, The delusions section, firstly is called the
: 'delusions' section, which in itself is very accurate
: as the section contains a series of different
: theories, to give the reader a wide choice of
: material, from which they make their own judgements
: and desicions etc.
: This (on the whole) does not constitute however, one
: consolodated view, a single doctrine, which people can
: disagree with if nessesary. such as gurps could be
: seen as being.
: gurps is pretty good, however, when myth 3 comes out,
: will be incomplete, and is not able to be displayed
: over the internet via a webpage/site.
: having the 'myth college' as mearly a section of another
: site, does not have the same effect, and changes the
: meaning of the idea.
: comments?
GURPS is terribly inaccurate in many places, however. Simple things, like the Deceiver's life(as GURPS states is still continuing) or death(as we clearly see in the game) result from the fact that the writer DIN'T PLAY THAT LEVEL.
The point of the project is that, all of the information is dispersed and in fragments everywhere, like a shattered Tain. We have to pick up all the pieces and put them into one, coherent piece of work. It contains a simple baseline of only cannon. From that come unproven-semitheories. On top of that come true theories. On the periphery come the most outlandishly unproven theories which may have only been put into the work simply because of their importance in some manner, or just because they're worth mentioning.
We don't need Myth III to show us how inaccurate our information is, as it is already heavily corrupted by noncannon taken as truth. However, I do like your idea of a Myth University very much, an ongoing group of people in the project who continuously make updates and so forth.
I agree with you on the Encyclopedia too; it's not nearly enough and too disconnected (no offense, dear Forrest:-).
