If that tain shard travelled from Forest Heart to near Tharsis in one day, then something's wrong. I think Soulblighter had one in his possession and had some more of his undead looking for another shard in the forest heart. They found it, but the Deceiver got to it before they
could transport it out...

If they just found that tain shard then why was the summener in that shard instead of the one in soulblighters camp? If soulblighter has had the myrkridia in force for, what was it, 4 or 5 months at that point than the summiner would have been in his camp. This implies that A) Soulblighter only had one shard or B) He had as many Myrks as he could control and sent the Summenter to find what was left of the tain.

I think soulblighter left the shard in the forest because. One, he did not count on the Deceiver being revived, and certainly not on him helping Alric. Two, he had no guarantee that his western campaign would succeed, myrks or no. So he set up a "secure base where he could fall back and counter attack with a continues stream of nasty reinforcements.
