Particularly when those cities are made out of something very useful to primitive humans: close-to-pure iron.
Chances are Connacht melted down all the Trow cities in the known lands, not just the then-inhabited ones...if nothing else, those cities doubtless contained some of those dangerous artifacts he was trying to dispose of.
