Actually, there is a known problem where recent copies of Myth (not sure if it's the Codex or individual boxed copies or what) have been shipping without serial numbers. Bungie is no longer capable of helping, and refers people to Take Two and GoD, but they seem to be unresponsive.
The best bet, currently, seems to be kicking Take Two repeatedly in the head until they get some better kind of communications system going there. Even potential business associates (hint hint) seem to be getting The Shaft when it comes to contacting them about anything.
