In Response To: Mazzarin goes Merlin style? (el $ker ~PoOp~)

: That still doesn't answer my question....WHAT has
: mazzarin done to become known as the greatest mage
: ever to walk the lands of miff?

: Moagim was beaten by a hero whose name was lost over
: time. Mb Mazzarin was something of a Merlin character.
: Powerful enuff to withstand both a leveller entity OR
: a saviour entity, mb he was an aid to the hero whose
: name was forgotten, like Merlin was to Arthur.
: Now if you r the aid and mentor of a Great Hero that
: defeats a leveller, THAT would make you one of the
: greatest mages ever, just like Merlin.

Well, he certainly had lots of power at his disposal - he handled 6 waves of who-knows-how-many thrall ok.

But perhaps his true abilities lay elsewhere. For instance, living in one of the dark ages, perhaps his magics were able to hide the locations of "light" survivors, thus preserving them until Connacht could begin the new age.

For such a deed Mazzarin would certainly be remembered as the greatest ever by those he protected. We also know his powers over the Codex were greater than anyone else's - something that required a kind of "thought" magic. Deceiving intelligent beasts like myrkridia would have been a skill along the same lines.

Just a theory mb...
