: I got your e-mail concerning the blurring of the color
: map around the river, but since u deleted your return
: address thing it won't let me reply so ill ask
: questions here: I can easly fix up the map, but i need
: to know where to send it/post it so you can get it,
: also i need to know if you like stuffed local folders
: or just plugins :)
The email addy got lost? Strange. Send it to andrewsumner (at) yahoo.com.
Anyway, do you mind if I give you a wish-list? No? Feel free to reject anything here that you disagree with...
(a) On the southern side of the river, the ground actually drops lower than water level between the river and the hills, where it should slope steadily up to where the hills start. It just looks a bit strange as it is ;)
(b) The puddles in the middle-west shouldn't really be the same colour as the river. Perhaps make them a little green/brownish to give a marshy effect?
(c) The water is the same colour in the middle as at the edges. The edges should really be lightened & given a little bit of texture to add interest & show that units can walk in them mb.
(d) In the green area between the river and the burnt land, there's a few hills. Perhaps some lightening of the grass on these would look good. Also, mb some cobble-stoning or dried-earth in the ruined village area?
That's all. These are enhancements to an already-good map, and I do hope you consider them. The water in particular as it affects playability, but the other things would be nice too.
I don't mind the format you send it in. Probably the most efficient would be to put the colourmap as a .pict and the displacement map (assuming you modify it) inside a .sit file & email it to me?
In the meantime I'll be busy working on the other things...
*cheers*
