You are thinking of Sarissa, I am talking about the Greek Hoplites, not the Macedonian ones. Alexander employed a phalanx formation of sarissa armed infantry, his Greek mercenaries were armed with spears for throwing and combat. A Sarissa armed unit would be interesting though? Or maybe some Rhodian Slingers? :)
