: Actually, the flavors say that an old one seemed to weep,
: and reponsed "It was they who poisoned the soul
: of iron." Referring to the Trow's use of iron for
: genocide.
Basically, the trow were the first to use it to kill. After that, the Forrest giants didn't really like anyone who used iron because they saw it destroying so much. An explanation why they don't like humans too much?
: I doubt they were undead Forest Giants, but it does raise
: the question of what they were supposed to be undead
: of? Some sort of light giant? The Oghres?
Well, we know that the Forrest Giants are trees, and trees are generally symbols of life, etc. The Trow are some sort of clay/rock (i don't remember), which is not alive. Non-Living stuff which is animated i suppose could be construed as 'undead' in some sense. [the trow killed the oghres, so can't be undead oghres. Unless of course, the Oghres really won, and began calling themselves trow to hide their victory...interesting, but probably false.]
: Trow are healable. And Forest Giants live communally with
: nature, no cities, basically functioning as mobile
: trees. They do breed, though we don't know how.
: They're basically trees that can walk.
: We do know that they were supposed to behave differently
: when damaged; they would turn into trees which could
: only be finished off by fire. They also threw
: magically explosive sacks of severed heads, like the
: Myrkridian Giants do.
The sacks (I think) were intended for the Trow.
