: I've been trying to catch up with the latest in theories
: on Levellers, Heroes, West vs. East etc., after
: several months of absence from reading the Asylum. (I
: used to be "Wasp" ... made a few posts a
: while back) I've been reading the really interesting
: new "Delusions" article about the Cycle, but
: had a couple of questions about some of the facts it
: uses. I don't have GURPS Myth, so I'm not sure which
: parts are assumptions and which are from published
: sources.
: First, are we sure that Moagim came from the East in the
: Third Age?
: Second, are we sure that Connacht came from the East in
: the Fourth Age?
: The article also makes the assumption that the Comet
: always follows the Dark... based on the knowledge that
: in the Fifth Age it comes from the East (following
: Balor), and in the Fourth Age, according to GURPS
: Myth, it comes from the West (assuming Connacht came
: from the East, following the Leveller again). Couldn't
: one draw the alternate assumption that the comet comes
: from whichever direction is going to lose?
: An additional statement/question... it seems that GURPS
: Myth is now accepted as canon by most people? I've
: heard that GURPS Myth claims The Deceiver is still
: alive. How is this claim reconciled with the fact that
: he was seen to be blown apart in Myth II?
Connacht came from Gower, which is in the East.
Some say that the Deciever is still alive based on a mixture of reasons, including: GURPS says so. He didn't die in a spectacular way like all the other Fallen. Judging from the behaviour of Phelot, Myrdred may have transferred his soul into him (the heroes don't attack him and he leaves, leving the heores unharmed, even though he still has dispersals left (he starts with six)). On the other hand, it is known that the guy whoo wrote GURPS didn't actually complete the level "Shiver", and so didn't see the Deciever blown to bits, so opinion is divided on this one.
