They all died. There were no survivors. The Legion bought enough time for Alric and his personal cadre to hack off Balor's head and teleport away to the Great Devoid. After the Devoid exploded, everyone was killed apart from Alric, the Berserk and the one armed Legionairre. The Legion was destroyed, wiped out, finished. Pretty depressing, but there you have it.
Actually, strictly speaking, a few Legionairres did survive: those left back at the Cloudspine to guard the passes, commanded by Maeldun, who died of his wounds after the war.
