I can think of a few objections to this:

First of all, we could say that the Summoner has 2 different abilities: Summon and Resurrect. When you see him, he uses Summon: He brings in a myrk that was already alive somewhere else. This takes a few seconds Tain time. Resurrect would be the process of bringing one myrk back from the far past, which might take a LOT longer. That would bring it down by a few.

Secondly, as you said, he may have the ability to resurrect dead myrks. This would imply that he needs a myrk corpse to work with, and that Soulblighter could send him dead myrks to be "recycled". But it also implies that he *doesn't* have the power to generate them *out of thin air*, whether they were alive in the past or not. He could be simply scouring the Tain for old myrk corpses, resurrecting them as he finds them. He probably wouldn't be able to work with fragments, so he'd need a whole corpse, and there might be many fewer of these than actual myrks if they were really as violent and cannibalistic as their flavor text indicates, maybe a few thousand. So Soulblighter would have a constant force of a few thousand myrks (as you said he could just send the dead ones back for resurrection) until the Summoner is killed, then his force dwindles.
