: Myrdred is described as one of the three Fallen who were
: "turned from the Light" as opposed to the
: three "anchient evils", so suggesting that
: Myrdred is relatively recent.
How does that make him "fresh" in Archmage Diary? Myrdred was, originally, a Good Avatara. He, along with Damas, was a close follower of Connacht. Connacht kind of led them both (especially Damas) to evilhooddom. The Watcher was already evil for a while, so being recruited by any Leveler, even a former enemy (Connacht-›Balor), was natural. Dec hated The Watcher the most, I suspect (Balor needing to not be an enemy with his subbordinate, however much Connacht hated him).
: I can't explain the height thing, but the Watcher looks
: pretty human when you see him in the loss screen of
: Homecoming.
So what? Let's say I paint a Trow a human skin color. Except for the baldish thing (and the ugly-as-sin face), he's going to look like a human would for that size. The humanoid form is one of the most common. Hell, I didn't even know fir'Bolg were non-human until after I beat TFL (years back, of course; I'm ejamacated now!:-)
It's quite an interesting story, actually…
Some time or another when playing TFL for the first time (I'm guessing when going through "Crow's Bridge"), I accidentally hit F6. Seeing as I had no experience with any real computer game before (and nothing like Myth), I didn't really figure out that I had lost any ability, seeing as I didn't even realize the existence of the menu bar. Welp, in addition to not knowing how the Function keys did very cool things (including the menu bar), I also didn't know that I could change the difficulty setting (or I had, and I was just really oblivious to the fact it was in my face…I don't know). "Sons of Myrgard" was really fun like this…I had no idea about the signal bottle, with no menu bar to tell me, so reinforcements weren't available. I was on Normal the entire game. I nearly gave up, until I figured out where to go (this is one reason I loved Myth TFL. I never had any clues of what to do in a level. I had to figure it all out for myself; no hints, no anything but an overhead map. It made it a lot more fun for me than m2).
So, I beat the game. (I had NO IDEA that there was even a Myth II available to me a this time! I never went to any website concerning Myth; that never occured to me.) My friend had lent the game to me for my birthday, and I gave it back to him when I got my own copy. I didn't play it much then, and pretty much stopped with it. Some time later, I was bored and decided to try out the game again. This time through, I discovered all the things I missed, including F6 equalling menu bar, how to get through "Sons of Myrgard" a LOT easier, how the fir'Bolg were another race, etcetera.
After I had beaten the game a second time, I was looking at new things in the game, like preferences, what all the things on the main menu did…and I undoubtedly came upon Multiplayer. As some may have experienced, I noticed the weirdest things; how my Player Name was my REAL name! (For my own personal privacy's sake, it said John S. …No, that's too obvious; let's say J. Smith.) "WTH!" I thought. "How did the game get my name??" I figured it was because my computer is registered under my real name, and the game looked at that to imput the example name…though not after many cryings to mother and phone calls.
I needed an account to get onto Multiplayer, I discovered. Going to bungie.net, I eventually figured it out, finding the damned little # on the jewel case (though, to be fair, my version of Myth then came from a "10 Tons of Fun," or something, game pack, the # hidden deep within the information packets.) Well, I ended up getting to m1 and have been an avid Myth Multiplayerer ever since.
And so my life was ruined! Now I have the honor of quiveling and bickering on the smallest and most insignificant of issues with you fine people, involving a game, never to see the light of day again, locked away in this well-guarded, and truly insane, Asylum :-).
Archer »–)›
P.S.: If my last words were confusing, I actually love this whole thing a lot, and I do find it an honor to be talking about these interesting issues.
Also, what does "IMHO" mean?? I haven't figured it out yet.
