I know that Halo is typically known for its wide variety of diverse locations in each game, and that some people expect that/specifically want that from Halo...but on the flipside of that, we spend very little time in each environment. There's an advantage to that; you basically get to design a "greatest hits" of every environmental concept so that it never gets stale. That said, I like the idea of getting to more thoroughly explore environmental concepts. Even if that means the plot gets spread more thinly, as long as character arcs progress at a reasonable and believable pace, it's not like the plot has to move quickly.
Despite having more plot in a single game (in no small part to it being a much longer game), God of War's character story moves faster and is denser than its overarching plot. That's honestly my favorite balance.
