I guess it sounds "nicer"? Also, the live services getting cut doesn't stop your disc from playing all the single-player, so I guess it's slightly better a euphemism.

The MCC versions are better in most ways, but there's still the appeal of the original menus or interstitials. To me the multiplayer stuff is far better in MCC just in terms of letting me play a grab bag of Halo at my fingertips.
