She thinks what she's doing is justified. Whether it is or not is a matter of opinion.

Halsey figuring out the way to stop Cortana would at least provide her with a resolution arc worthy of her.

I'd say no, if only because some fans are so upset about Cortana being "evil" there is no solving it for them. I mean, you have people upset that they didn't follow up on the plot threads of Halo 4 who still want 343 to retcon all of Halo 5.

I liked the fire team system in Halo 5 and would like it to return. Halo has in the past suffered from not having main characters along to deliver story, and especially with Cortana now the antagonist Blue Team and Osiris fill a nice role. The AI leaves something to be desired—it's better than Reach, but that's not exactly a ringing endorsement. Even on Legendary they can be quite capable, but it's entirely down to you being smart and executing commands. I do agree if you're playing solo than hanging around bleeding out isn't a fun mechanic... would be a nice compromise if you'd rapidly drop then so you can still have the more classic checkpoint elements.

It would be nice to have marines and Spartans back aside from main characters. I missed them a lot.

I hope they keep the non-combat sections of missions (even if they aren't split out into their own missions) and keep the audio diaries. That stuff was basically what I wanted most from other FPS like BioShock and added to Halo, and I'm happy I got it.
