I feel like there's a fairly large divide in Halo fandom between the people who care about e-sports and who don't. Personally, even though I love Halo and play it more than any other game basically I'm not a big fan of watching it; RTS like StarCraft or MOBAs like Dota 2 hold my interest more.

I think the most relevant part though is that something like this isn't taking bandwidth away from the game. 343 is hiring outside help to make it so it's not like it takes away from other aspects of the franchise.
