Are we talking about one of those washing machines with the dryer on top? And remember, this probably wasn't a complete slipspace drive. There was just enough there to rip a hole in space-time, with none of the machinery necessary to make the process survivable.

Because you're not launching one missile at the assault carrier. You're launching hundreds in order to saturate the assault carrier's point defense systems.
