: Lets take Halo for instance. With Halo's massive universe and story driven
: narrative, it has the source material possible to make a good movie.

The action scenes in FUD were short enough that my hands weren't itching to grab the controller and do it myself but a two hour movie of the chief kicking ass would be torture. :-) And I wouldn't want a two hour movie of marines talking to each other about: duty, sacrifice, and honor. No thanks.

But maybe Joss Wedon could make a Halo TV series where outer colony rebels could eke out a living on the wrong side of the law. I suspect you know who the cast would be...

But, seriously, something set on venezia showing humans and ex-covies performing heists on inner colony worlds, occasional run-ins with UEG police, shady ONI entanglements, hard-core insurrectionists, nutty religious fringes. There might be some millage there. But that's not actually a movie.

Maybe Venezia was a Forerunner world. We don't see Forerunner artifacts because that's too yawn. But perhaps we get flashbacks to the Forerunner colony in the later stages of the Flood assault on the galaxy and see what life was like for ordinary Forerunners in those dark days.

I'm sure there are more stories in the Haloverse than have been told to date.
