: Just to add a small note. Though I agree with the idea that there can be
: improvements and that the snowball effect can be a real problem, I also do
: not think this has anything to do with malice or apathy. There are entire
: genres (MOBAs) that are built around this concept. It's no surprise that
: Warzone falls prey to this issue as it borrows heavily from that genre.

: It's inherent to the gametype as designed. This gametype, as designed, does
: not appeal to you, and that's fine. It would be nice if there were another
: version that played with a linear REQ level progression, or even perhaps
: cutting your personal progress earned per kill the higher level REQ you're
: using?

: Ultimately, Warzone does what it is designed to do. It's a classic case of
: utopia/distopia. I feel like very good idea can be exploited into a bad
: one, and frankly there's not really many ways to try to innovate or create
: new things without someone finding a way to ruin it for everyone.

I'm not sure the MOBA comparison quite works, because the balance to snowballing heroes in a game like Dota is that if you manage to bring down their carry, you get showered with gold and they're dead for a much longer time period + a much higher cost to instantly buy-back. No matter how far behind you are, if you manage to pick off enemies or successfully counter a push in the late game you can win; the longer the game goes the less material advantage, to view it as chess, matters, because you can quickly demolish the other enemies' fortifications.

That's not really applicable in Warzone. Capture times don't change as the game goes on, and neither does the frequency of point totals or spawn timers. The main elasticity is that a team with more bases has more territory to defend and thus has to choose between maintaining bases or hunting objectives or just outright slaying.
