The flood are so oober they can bend time and space and mind. You aren't going to defeat them with warships and death stars.

OTOH this is halo so you'll do just fine with an AR, your trusty pistol, some frags and some stickies.

But for a start I'd try to convince the forerunners that promethean weapons should derezz when the prometheans are killed.
