I'm about 5 minutes in. I will finish this soon but I would like to point out that while this video (by it's description on YouTube) appears to be focused on why Halo might be worse now, I think it fails at that a bit.
There are certainly areas I'd say 343 dropped the ball in comparison to their predecessors, the largest in the video by far, IMO, is the approach to enemy design (engaging the player vs. character history and background).
On the flipside, I didn't engage with Halo very strongly until I read TFoR. Their empty shell approach to the Chief was by no means a bad one, but I disagree that it was more engaging. This is an area I feel 343 is stronger in.
Ultimately each person has their own opinions on which game design philosophies are better, but I wouldn't say 343 is doing everything wrong. I feel like its a bit of a see-saw. Where Bungie dropped the ball for me, 343 has been slowly improving. Where 343 has failed me, Bungie used to do a better job.
