I think you're being thrown off by the use of my word Puritan, and I admit: I'm using that word provocatively because these critics often pride themselves in not being Puritans. I contend they are. They tend to dismiss out of hand any viewpoint they don't deem as ideologically pure. To disagree is to be evil.
