PC multiplayer requiring a subscription fee was one of the big beefs people had with GFWL. It's pretty comparable.
The only PC games with subscriptions for multiplayer are MMOs, and in those cases it's a sub for the whole game. I'd be a lot happier if H5Forge had an upfront price and I didn't have to pay for XBL Gold (and by "a lot happier" I mean I'm not buying XBL Gold for one game) - and if H6 is on PC as a £40 title and requires Gold for multiplayer, we'll just be back in 2007 again.
