: And finally, gameplay. The gameplay was fine this time around. Short but
: fine. My only real complaint is that 343 kept claiming they were going to
: bring back the feel of Halo1 and 2. But 343i missed the biggest thing
: about Halo1 & 2, that made it fun. FREEDOM!! The games were open to
: exploration. No kill zones and background terrain that we could explore.
: Sometimes ut required the player to "break the map" to do this.
: But once done, we were free to explore it. Be it fully textured or not.
: Halo 5, like H4, is filled with un-needed kill zones. Which is a real
: shame with the clamber mechanic. We know it's a game. Why limit player
: exploration? Don't make it easy, but allow it.
Me: I think I'll take my warthog through there.
Chris101b: I don't think you can.
Me: Look at that, just did it!
Chris101b: wow, this section is really easy with a warthog!
In my one and only playthrough, I found Halo 5 to be much more accommodating of tricks, exploration, and various way to approach any given battle than Halo 4 was. A step in the right direction for sure. It's no Halo 1, but nobody was ever expecting that.
