: I was considering making the exact same offer. But I really don't have an
: extra hundred bucks laying around, with Forza and TTK just around the
: corner and money already earmarked for that.

All of the Fall of Reach comics have been claimed. Still got Bloodline and Uprising though.

: On a related note, I've never read any of the comics, are they good? (I was
: considering jumping in mainly because I'm a sucker for good art, and the
: art looks good)

I really enjoyed the Halo Graphic Novel and its Bungie curation. Getting Moebius, one of the greatest illustrators of the last century, to completely reinterpret Halo from the ground up was amazing. The fact that it was also the first story to touch on civilian life in the universe, established an important footnote in the lore of Halo 2, and was emotional was a bonus. One of my favorite parts of the EU.

Uprising has beautiful covers but I'm not a fan of Maleev's style. There's a lot of material grabbed directly from the games and copied in. Now you gotta do what you gotta do when making art, but when that process leads to weird things like geometry from High Charity making up the interior of the Dreadnaught, you lose me. The civilian story didn't feel like Halo and Master Chief's side felt like filler.

Helljumper was a big improvement. I'm a fan of Peter David's writing so that helps, plus it features some of the ODST gang. The art felt accurate to Halo while remaining Eric Nguyen's style. I'm not sure the story really led to anything, but at least it was fun (and that's why I'm not letting them go).

Bloodline wasn't bad. The artist followed the existing Halo designs well but his own designs clashed with them in my opinion. Stuff like random UNSC uniforms and ship designs. But that's the issue you see with a lot of expanded universe comics, like Star Wars comics with new vehicles and ships that make you go "something about that doesn't feel like Star Wars..." The story wasn't written poorly, but by this point in time I had read so many 'Spartan-squad-investigates-Forerunner-artifact' stories it felt like a retread.

The Fall of Reach multi-series was strange. You could tell the writer and the artist were of quality but I don't think they quite fitted the project. Felix Ruiz has a very rough, blocky style. I actually think that looks cool with the normally-organic lines that make up humans, but it didn't work with all the armor and spaceships that make up half the story. A lot of stuff just became a heap of squares awkwardly moving around. The space battles felt strangely claustrophobic, but a lot of comics are guilty of that.

...and that's all the Halo comics I've read, I think.
