Plus, you have to bear in mind that not all checkpoints are of a simple "enter an area" variety. Plenty are dependent on other conditions being met, which has sometimes taken me a lot of experimenting to try and pin down with reasonable confidence - and sometimes things remain unclear.

I'm assuming this is all to help with planning your episodes. Perhaps the best approach would be to just scout the possibilities in advance when you're coming up to featuring a certain area, to see what might be handy.
