: Producers of Power/Rangers Video Might Be In For Legal Fight (Deadline)
Sticking a forward slash in the middle of "Power Rangers" doesn't stop it from being trademark infringement. The names of characters, the distinctive catchphrase and the distinctive design of outfits (more IP) tie it very closely to the original, too. As a layman, I would guess it would be pretty easy to prove the affect on the brand and/or confusion with official media.
On the other hand, a 'satire' or 'parody' defence only applies to copyright as far as I know. Kahn has shot himself in the foot on that by already saying it's supposed to be a 'serious' take on the franchise.
