I don't think Sp-Ops was a flawed idea at all, just a less than stellar execution of a really good idea. As Hyokin said, more of a focused story on your 'personal spartan' was a pretty nifty idea and they have a chance with 5 to really make it great. If they could redo Sp-Ops while maintaining what made Sp-Ops good and hopefully adding what made Firefight good, they could have a really great co-op (or single player) mode for Halo.
