Halo 3 spawns completely broken

So I have yet to play a single game of Halo 3 in which the spawns flip when the opposite team takes over your side. I played a team slayer game on Narrows in which everyone on the opposite team quit except for 2 people (2v5). All 4 of my teammates and I were on their side of the map and they kept spawning within 20 feet of us. And we were spawn camping them until the game ended.

I also played a game on Standoff where a similar situation came up and we all stood in and around the base as they continued to spawn on the same side over and over and over and over and over.

This tends to happen more on symmetrical maps. Has anyone else had this issue? It's been pretty annoying and I just want to be able to play Halo 3 and have it feel the same as it used to. Right now, with the way spawning has been, it feels completely wrong. The flow just isn't there.
