I think it is one thing to engage with fans, and link and share their creations from your website and elsewhere. That is great, and it's wonderful. Waypoint used to link to HSH and say "Check out what the speedrunners are doing!". That's cool stuff.
I think it is another thing to ask him to give it to you for free, to then put it in things you will sell and directly make money off of yourself. Unless these books and encyclopedias are being given away for free, and otherwise aren't promotional.
I see this happening a lot lately, and I'm a bit disappointed 343 is doing this.
Sorry to go off topic, but I wanted to bring it up to TDSpiral. If you give them that written permission for them to profit off your work, you are letting them exploit you. Value yourself and your art.
