It does vary. Played it for the first time at a friend's house for SEVERAL hours. Had a great time. Only issues we had were sometimes it would be challenging to join a party. That was pretty much it.

I will note that we was doing co op on a Halo 1 map (Rat Race). I hit pause in the middle of the game to change my invertedness, and then everything froze. That was another issue.

Game was broken, but I could deal with it until they get it working better. We were doing Team Slayer the entire time. MCC is amazing.
