Yeah it's something I'm trying not to look into too much, (don't want to make myself disappointed) my first thought was that the Halo 3 epilogue is considered a separate level with campaign scoring active, but that doesn't make sense because Halo 4 would have an additional level as well if that were the case.

I guess time will tell, but I would find it odd if Halo 3 get's a cut mission re-implemented and Halo 2 doesn't.
