Bungie's games really didn't have John as anything more than a vessel for players so it's not like you were missing anything even if the Arbiter hadn't been a playable character. If Guardians is like Halo 2 all over again, development hell aside, then I'll be one happy panda. Thankfully 343i recognizes the Chief as a person and not something we can simply personify ourselves as, so we don't have to worry about Jameson taking over the show to the same degree as the Arbiter.
