Welcome! I'll say I've enjoyed 'the world' of Destiny and playing co-op is some of the best multiplayer fun I've had, but the story and even the gameplay (loot based systems in general) aren't my cup o' tea. I'm excited as well for Halo 5 and check the forum daily and post less than that. As I believe Rev said, the MCC and it's terminals, cutscenes and such will add a lot to this forum in the next two months so expect it to get back to a normal pre-Destiny flow here when that happens.
