Old and familiar is the name of the game, that's why the shooters that aren't Halo copy Halo or Call of Duty or Mass Effect or Borderlands, and before that they copied Quake and Half-Life and Doom and Duke Nukem. That's why there are fifty million puzzle games where you stack things. It's why western fantasy has been riding Tolkien's coattails for sixty years.
