You know, we've tended to agree on lots of Halo things over the years, but I question when people say that Reach didn't work. I feel like Reach worked just fine aside from bloom and really, really overpowered vehicles. Oh, and the maps sucked. But yeah, that aside, 343 got Reach, put in a TU that was self-serving and didn't actually fix or update anything in the standard game, split the population, and made gameplay worse. I feel like the bloom experiment failed, you know? Some of the loadouts and abilities failed, but others made gameplay even better.
I have to hand it to H4 when it comes to Sprint and Jetpack. Those things being used in conjunction are amazing. Other people hate how you can sprint all the time in H4. People also complain about the partial sprint you get in Reach. Makes no sense to me, honestly. Reach's jetpack is kind of whack, and I feel like H4 actually got it right. But whatever. Why innovate anything that was put into Reach/H4 that actually did work when you can tuck that tail between your legs and run crying back to H2, right? :P
