Not really sure what you're getting at here. That seems pretty indicative of Miller's character- not too serious, a bit cocky. Sure, you never see him actually go out and kill any Covenant, but I could totally see him striking that pose after a skirmish with the Covenant. There have been plenty of Marines, ODSTs, and other NPCs in Bungie's Halo games that have had the same attitude (like Mickey or Romeo).

Besides, it's not really an "official" image anyways. It was something that a modeler posted as a portfolio piece.
