Guess Truth and Tartarus got really lucky with Miranda being one of those humans. I wonder if Tartarus found it odd that they needed a human to activate Halo, when they're vermin in the eyes of the Covenant.. I know the Prophets know the truth about humans and just cover it up.

Yeah, I remember this from CEA, but that begs the question: Why didn't 343GS then vent the parts of the ring that the Flood had escaped from? It seems like he's either an idiot for not doing so, or the Flood can survive in space making the venting of parts of the ring useless.
