They got Halo 3 out the door with no problem, despite it being on brand new hardware. And 343 seems to be so far ahead in Halo 5's development that they can do a public beta test a whole year before the game is released.
So what's the story with Halo 2? I remember from the documentary that they ran out of the time and had to scrap a bunch of campaign levels (like the ending), but why were they in that position in the first place? Did they have some false starts? Were they just overly ambitious?
