I hadn't ever considered that; that's interesting!

... But I also always interpreted Cortana putting an emphasis on the phrase, like "we've got reinforcements AND they're on station, ready to deploy". I wonder what the relevance of which part of the station the Chief was on could be in that context?

What if "The Spoke" was perhaps the name of the whole station before evolving into "Cairo Station"? As if the station was a rod and the Earth the hub.

Or perhaps Ragashingo's right and this really IS a saying that the Internet happened to miss? I think I'm even more confused now, hah. :)
