I felt the exact opposite. When the Chief gets his new armor at the start of Halo 2 it's supposed to be brand new (I thought), so I don't get why it has all the battle damage on Cairo station. Scuffs,scrapes, paint chipping, that shouldn't happen until maybe after he crashes back to Miranda's ship.

I remember thinking this as a kid, that it was weird he was already looking damaged and the new screenshots just brought back that memory.
