It was one of my top 3 games of the past generation, along with BioShock and Halo: Reach. As a pure gameplay experience, Reach was my favorite of the Halo series this generation, even though the retcons were really terrible. BioShock was to me one of the most engrossing gaming experiences I've had in the past decade, with a great story, immersive world, superb art design, and just plain fun gameplay. But Super Mario Galaxy showed me just why Nintendo will always be my favorite game company. Galaxy had Mario in fine form, with the best platforming action since Mario 64 eleven years earlier. I honestly can't think of a single bad thing about the game.
