But don't we only have half of the key? Do we know if each half contains partial information or if it requires the entire Janus key to be used?

The Wikis seem to make some guesses, but it looks like they are using their Jump to Conclusion mats to come up with "one half is defensive artifacts and the other half is offensive" type idea.
