Not only is it setting a precedent for Halo games on the Steam platform (proving for the first time that MS and Valve can get along as business partners when it comes to Halo), but the possibilities for modding are exciting.
Obviously I hope that modding Spartan Assault is relatively easy, but if it isn't, it's still likely able to happen, however more time-consuming. =D
We'll be able to use FRAPS to capture footage, we'll likely be able to enjoy 120Hz and 144Hz refresh rates on our monitors, we'll likely be able to crank up the screen resolution, those of us who get GSYNC monitors will be able to enjoy MUCH smoother motion, and there's even opportunity to view it (in a traditional, non-VR way) on a consumer version of the Oculus Rift (maybe still in some sort of jury rigged 3D, but we're gonna have to see about that).
Either way, this is FANTASTIC news! =D
