Miranda's teased interactions with her mother in the Halsey Journal really intrigued me. What brought her down was the attitude she conveyed - James T. Kirk with [one's own] boobs. Allegations of nepotism against the daughter of famed Naval hero Jacob Keyes kept me going, not the forced nature of her combat prowess or lack thereof.
