I can never take people seriously when they drag out this trope. Even though it's true in some cases, it's false in too many cases to be considered a generality and it always betrays a mix of defensiveness, insecurity, and jealousy on the part of the author. I think you're better off focusing on your actual points and avoiding the tired "they [beat me / won / have something I don't have] so they must be losers who don't have a gf or a job like I have" commentary.
