I don't know about sprockets or refresh rates, but I have two complaints with PC mice. The first is that they are light. Not advanced light, but the cheap bendy feeling that makes you wonder if it will collapse if you squeeze it hard. They have "ergonomic" designs, which only work if you have a hand that size of a gorilla, and the positioning of the mouse ball is too high. The ball never gets a grip on the pad, there is way too much room in most for it to rattle around in, and an excess of friction. Also, the mice seem to move in half-centimeter jerks instead of pixel-by-pixel on the Mac. (maybe that was a little more than two.)

The mouse is one of the most comfortable things I have ever used as a controller, including all types of gamepads. Sure, the keyboard needs to be turned slightly in order for the wsad keys to be used comfortably, but it has no more risk of wrist injury than regular typing (less in fact).
