In Response To: SCREW YOU! (Peanut) : as long as we can agree that multiplayer wouldn't be impossible I don't recall anyone agreeing on this. I played Oni at Macworld NY '99. This build supported multiplayer. It was running over a LAN that occupied about 10 square feet; the pings must have been around 5. It was jerky and went out of synch very often. If it got that performance over a LAN, it would be unplayable over even the fastest internet lines. For the last time, the Oni team at Bungie, who has the final word on the subject, looked at multiplayer and tried as hard as they could to get it in and they decided it was not possible. How hard is it to understand that they didn't cut multiplayer just to annoy people? | |
